Neil MacLean is one of Canada's most experienced leaders in home and community care, with three decades spent closing the gaps where people navigate care outside the hospital. He co-founded the Ontario Telemedicine Network, scaling it from a start-up into one of the world's largest publicly funded virtual care organizations — stewarding roughly $42M in annual funding and building the provincial digital infrastructure that brought virtual care to urban, rural, remote, and Indigenous communities. HJe now advises CEOs, boards, and executive teams on the mandates too consequential to delegate: strategy, governance, and system transformation.

As Vice President of Integrated Care & Community Partnerships at Spectrum Health Care, one of Ontario's largest home care organizations, he designed and scaled the hospital-to-home and ED-to-home pathways that became a recognized model across the GTA. His governance record matches his operating one: elected by the CEOs of Ontario's 174 hospitals to the Ontario Hospital Association board, board chair of a rural hospital alliance, expert advisor to the Canadian Home Care Association, and a national voice on home care, from TVO's The Agenda to chairing the inaugural National Healthcare Business Development Conference. He holds a PhD in Medical Biophysics from Western University, an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University, and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Neil anchors the home-and-community-care foundation of Own Health's mission. Extending specialist-led capacity beyond hospital walls only works if it connects to how home care actually operates on the ground and few people in Canada have built that connective infrastructure more deeply, or at greater scale. The hospital-to-home and ED-to-home pathways at the centre of his career are the same pathways Own Health runs, making him a definitive guide as we integrate field care, virtual oversight, and specialist escalation into one accountable system.
