How does Own Health work?
The mission of Own Health is to improve access to evidence-based, expert care for patients with lower limb disease and wounds. Book an appointment with one of our specialists, and a convenient telemedicine visit will be undertaken. A personalized longitudinal care plan will be developed for each patient, depending on presentation, and risk of future foot complications. Should in-person diagnostic or therapeutic interventions be required, arrangements will be made through our network of locations across the GTA.
Is there a cost for using Own Health?
Own Health is 100% OHIP covered for residents of Ontario. Book an appointment with your Ontario health card.
Do I need a referral to access Own Health?
A referral is NOT required to schedule an appointment with an Own Health healthcare provider. We make it easy to access our care platform, without the obstacles of a traditional specialist clinic.
What can I expect from an Own Health virtual visit?
Our telemedicine platform allows for thorough assessment, education and surveillance, from the comfort of your home. Once an appointment is booked, a link for your secure video teleconference visit will be sent via email. No downloads, or apps required.

Who are the doctors and health care providers at Own Health?
Our multidisciplinary team comprises board-certified Canadian-trained physicians. Within the Own Health network you will have access to chiropodists, diabetic educators, internal medicine specialists, as well as vascular, orthopedic and plastic surgeons. Own Health is affiliated with a number of geographically convenient clinics, and diagnostic imaging facilities in Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, North York, Richmond Hill and St. Catharines.
